GET INVOLVED-HOW CAN YOU HELP LORA’S LUCK?
We are a non profit limited company set up as a social enterprise registered with Companies House, HMRC, IPAFFS and with APHA according to full UK law, with our community hubs moving to full charitable limited company status as fast as Covid 19 delays with various authorities allow and are in the final stages of that transition (correct on 05.11.2021 and will update all progress).
We use the Premium Service that Petlog provides, which is affiliated to the Kennel Club, to register our dogs’ microchips in the UK as this gives our dogs extra benefits Pettrac does not provide, such as being able to compete in agility events, Scruffts and more!
This is one of four legal ways to set up a charitable organisation as set out by the UK government.
We were also waiting for the fallout of Brexit to see exactly how many new laws and protections we needed to have in place, and what that would cost, to move forward with our plans and original mission statement. With Covid-19 and Brexit, everything has been delayed twice over, but it hasn’t stopped our work with and for dogs!
Now it is clear we are part 2 listed and not a third country, or worse still, if we had crashed out with no deal, in relation to the EU, we have been able to proceed with our full registration.
The reason we set it up this way and not a
Trust
CIC (Community Interest Company)
or CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation)
is because
the checks on us and rules we have to follow are FAR more strict, which can only benefit the dogs
we are allowed as Team Members to legally fundraise (many rescues use personal Paypal accounts or bank accounts to avoid charges and applicable taxes- we don’t.)
we are able to buy land and property in our name for use by the organisation and its full members (see below) with the primary aim of raising funds for the cause.
We have lots of ways to get involved!
There are
one off donations of all sizes
and great eco friendly doggy products
here on our shop’ page ***
Or maybe come up with your own fundraising ideas as many of our adopters have and do as well as us. Payments for such events can be sent to our PayPal https://paypal.me/LandForLorasLuck for hub/land donations or https://paypal.me/LorasLuckDogRescue for the dogs, or our Doggies or Land bank accounts (please contact the team for more details); or you can use Switch and Apple Pay.

This is put in a ‘land pot' to fund and finance our own NGO in both Romania and the UK. We are only able to do this legally because of how we originally set up Lora’s Luck as this was always the goal- dog care from the cradle to the grave. This does not just mean finding them a home, but offering quality of life, not ‘just’ care, and lifetime instant support, aftercare and RBU 4 days a week 12 hours a day the moment they come a Lora’s Luck dog till that sad time they cross the Rainbow Bridge…
Then we can ensure the highest standards of care from the minute we save the dog, keeping to all the laws necessary for the best care and transport to their forever homes, including during lockdown and after Brexit.
And also provide, once the dogs are in their UK forever homes, a wide range of after care, products and services offered by no other charity in the world!
LEVEL THREE
Become a Lora’s Luck Full Member.
To do this, you need to:
go through our adoption and vetting process for Team Member purposes, and pass
be a Team Member and be able to offer at least three hours a week of your time/experience to take on a minimum of one role for us (full roles and duties can be sent on request.)

All Team Members we have do a variety of roles based on their skill set (like the job they do and/or the rescue experience they have had) after a period of moderated observation and training.
Team Member roles are very varied, from helping us in our support and after care chats on Skype moderated chats and Lora's Luck Live Online Forum on our own server (still under construction) for adopters that we run 4 days a week 12 hours a day for instant RBU to sharing posts on FB Twitter and IG, to fundraising, fostering and much more!
NO other rescue offers this level of RBU and we take our role as a rescue very seriously, so only the best become team members!
We are offering, to help offer the best service for our adopters, to full members only, one FREE course run by the Centre of Excellence (which they must pass on order to remain a Team Member) in dog skills from behaviour to nutrition and everything in between to a Level 3 standard. All Team Members staying long term must take and pass at least one of these courses to comply with new regulations.
